JFK Stadium, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was a multi-purpose stadium that was in operation from 1926 to 1992. Originally known as Sesquicentennial Stadium, it was renamed John F. Kennedy Stadium in 1964 in honor of the former President.
The stadium had a seating capacity of over 100,000, making it one of the largest stadiums in the United States at the time. It was primarily used for football games, concerts, and other large events.
JFK Stadium was the longtime home of the Philadelphia Eagles football team and also hosted numerous concerts by major musical acts such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Bruce Springsteen.
The stadium was closed in 1992 and was eventually demolished in 1999 to make way for a parking lot for the adjacent sports complex. Today, the site where JFK Stadium once stood is used for parking and tailgating for events at nearby Lincoln Financial Field.
